balamukund astakam

kararavindena padaravindam
mukharavinde viniveshayantam
vatasya patrasya pute shayanam
balam mukundam manasa smarami

The one who keeps his lotus like feet on his lotus like mouth with his lotus like hand, I think of Balamukundan who sleeps on the vata pathra leaf. (1)

Mangalacharan

vikretukama kila gopa-kanya
murari-padarpita-citta-vrttih
dadhyadikam mohavasad avocad
govinda damodara madhaveti

Though desiring to sell milk, dahi, butter, etc., the mind of a young gopi was so absorbed in the lotus feet of Krsna that instead of calling out Milk for sale, she bewilderedly said, Govinda!, Damodara!, and Madhava!

grhe grhe gopa-vadhu-kadambah
sarve militva samavaya-yoge
punyani namani pathanti nityam
govinda damodara madhaveti

In house after house, groups of gopis gather on various occasions, and together they always chant the transcendental names of KrsnaGovinda, Damodara, and Madhava.

sukham sayanam nilaye ca visnum
devarsi-mukhya munayah prapannah
tenacyute tanmayatam vrajanti
govinda damodara madhaveti

Devarsi Narada and other munis are always surrendered to Lord Visnu, who happily rests upon His couch. They always chant the names of Govinda, Damodara, and Madhava, and thus they attain spiritual forms similar to His.

jihve sadaiva bhaja sundarani
namani krsnasya manoharani
samasta-bhaktarti-vinasanani
govinda damodara madhaveti

O my tongue, always worship these beautiful, enchanting names of Krsna, Govinda, Damodara, and Madhava, which destroy all the obstacles of the devotees.

sukhavasane tv idam eva saram
duhkhavasane tv idam eva geyam
dehavasane tv idam eva japyam
govinda damodara madhaveti

Indeed, this is the essence found upon ceasing the affairs of mundane happiness. And this too is to be sung after the cessation of all sufferings. This alone is to be chanted at the time of death of ones material bodyGovinda, Damodara, Madhava!

sri krsna radhavara gokulesa
gopala govardhana-natha visno
jihve pibasvamrtam etad eva
govinda damodara madhaveti

O tongue, utter only these nectarean names, Çri Krsna, dearmost of Çri Radha, Lord of Gokula, Gopala, Lord of Govardhana, Visnu, Govinda, Damodara, and Madhava.

tvam eva yace mama dehi jihve
samagate dandadhare krtante
vaktavyam evam madhuram su-bhaktya
govinda damodara madhaveti

O my tongue, I ask only this, that upon my meeting the bearer of the scepter of chastisement (Yamaraja), you will utter this sweet phrase with great devotion: Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!

jihve rasajne madhura-priya tvam
satyam hitam tvam paramam vadami
avarnayetha madhuraksarani
govinda damodara madhaveti

O my tongue, you are fond of sweet things and are of discriminating taste; I tell you the highest truth, which is also the most beneficial. Please just recite these sweet syllables: Govinda, Damodara, and Madhava.

Added by: vshare
Tags: Lord, Krishna, Hinduism, Hindu, Sanathan, Dharma, Pandit, Jasraj, Mangalcharan, Ekal, Vidhyalaya, Ekal.org, www.ekal.org, www.aryasamaj.com
Date: 2010-05-28

"Mujhe Apni Sharan Mein Le Lo Mere Shyam" - Vinod Aggarwal Ji

http://GitaBlog.com Click on the link for Religious articles ; View all of my videos with many of these with lyrics of the song written at my "Bhagwat Gita Blog"

"Mujhe Apni Sharan Mein Le Lo Mere Shyam" ie. "God - Take Me In Your Refuge" is a beautiful bhazan sung to Hindu God Lord Krishna. In this devotional video the singer "Sh. Vinod Aggawal Ji" is just invoking the Lord Sri Krishna to take him in His refuge. It is basically a more than one hour long Bhazan, sung by "Sh. Vinod Aggawal Ji" but here due to "You Tube" time limitation for a video, I have made a video of 10 minutes out of that Bhazan. Hope you would like it.

Added by: vshare
Tags: Govind, Gopal, Krishna, Vinod, Aggarwal, Lord, prayer, hinduism, Radhe, shyam, Nandlal, Om, devotional, Bhajan, bhazan, chant
Date: 2010-05-28

"Mein To Apne Mohan Ki Pyari" by Vinod Aggarwal Ji

http://GitaBlog.com Click on the link for Religious articles ; View all of my videos with many of these with lyrics of the song written at my "Bhagwat Gita Blog"

This is a very auspicious form of God. Ganesha is the son of God in his form as Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. He is the Owner of Obstacles (Vigneswara, or Vighnaraya) and is the first to be invoked in every Vedic ritual, as he is the one who opens the way for spiritual aspirants so that they can make advancements. He personifies Opportunity.

He is also the God of the intellect, culture and the arts, the divine scribe who compiled the Vedas and the Lord of all knowledge. He is the word of God, and is known as Omkaram or the very Form of Om, which is the original creative vibration of this universe.

In the scripture of Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says "Out of all the sacred syllables, I am OM". Therefore, Ganesha is understood to be non-different from the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

He likes offerings of sweets, coconut, sandal incense, fruits and sweet balls of rice known as modakas. Ganesha is strictly vegetarian! He practices non-violence.

The reason why his five-faced form is worshiped in December has to do with the Hindu diaspora in the Western world and how every religion and culture has its own version of a winter solstice or Yuletide celebration: Christians have Christmas, Jews have Hannukah, African Americans have Kwanzaa, and often Hindu children feel left out and so diasporic Hindus decided to create a new tradition so that children could enjoy gifts, have a good time, eat sweets and learn about their heritage during the winter solstice.

On the tradition of worshiping Pancha Ganapati (meaning, "The worship of the Five-faced Lord of the Hosts") youtuber kirstanuci (thanks :) informed me that "In Sri Karuna Mayi Devi's book on the Gayatri Vol 1, page 25, She reveals that Lord Ganesh was awarded His 5 heads as a boon from the Divine Mother, Sri Gayatri Devi, in order to continually chant the 4 Vedas and the Upanishads, respectiviely from those 5 heads; and as well as to be worshipped in Her place."

Since Yule is a time to prepare for the coming of a new year, it's an auspicious time to worship the jolly, pot-bellied Lord of all beginnings. Pancha Ganapati is a five day festival which is celebrated in the home from December 21 through December 25 in worship of the five qualities that Ganesha embodies in this form.

Through this festival we strengthen and promote happiness and success in the five areas of family, neighbors, business relations, arts and culture, and finally in the whole world.

Ganesha is also a meditational deity. His one tusk symbolizes concentration. His bija or root mantra is GAM. Some of the mantras used to salute him are:

Om Sri Ganeshaya Namaha
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha

The song that was chosen for this video is by Bhagavan Das. It is from his CD 'Now' and the salutation used is 'Gam Ganapataye Namoh Namaha'.
